Round Square

Round Square is your passport to a world of self-discovery and personal growth.

Round Square is a global network of schools committed to international understanding, and educating through service both at home and overseas.

As a member of the Round Square group of schools, Ivanhoe Grammar School shares the vision of taking education beyond the academic and expanding the nature of learning to personal development and global responsibility. The pillars, or IDEALS, of the network are:

  • Internationalism
  • Democracy
  • Environment
  • Adventure
  • Leadership
  • Service

As a Round Square school, these IDEALS are embedded in every area of school life at Ivanhoe Grammar School and students at all year levels are encouraged to pursue these pillars through a number of curricular and co-curricular activities. These activities may include fundraising, participating in service projects, volunteering and participating in outdoor and community education programs. Participation in Round Square activities prepares students for life beyond school by facing situations that demand courage, generosity, imagination, principle and resolve.

Cambodian Service Project

The annual Cambodian Service Project is a key component of the School’s commitment to the Round Square IDEALS. Each year, a group of students travel to Cambodia – a country still emerging from years of hardship and brutality – to work with aid organisations operating locally in Cambodia.
