Year 2 Students take to the kitchen
As part of a healthy living unit, Year 2 students have been growing their own basil plants. As a way of understanding food to table, the students then visited the Food Technology Centre and prepared homemade pizzas which of course used their own fresh basil to add flavour and as a garnish!
The students who enjoyed the cooking were also asked to consider food likes and dislikes, selection of healthy ingredients, how to work in a team in the kitchen, essential personal hygiene and food safety skills.
Many parents came along to assist in the cooking and were a great help – thanks very much parents!
