Year 12 results for 2018: The story is now complete

3 January 2019

In 2018, a number of year 12 students at Ivanhoe Grammar School chose to undertake the well-respected International Baccalaureate (IB) to expand their options for tertiary education.

The dedication and hard work for these students were realised today with the release of the International Baccalaureate results. Congratulations to all students, we are extremely proud of their achievements.

In particular we would like to congratulate our International Baccalaureate Dux Noah McShanag-Munn who achieved an IB score of 43. This is equivalent to an ATAR of 99.7 and places Noah in the top 0.3% of the State.

Following the release of the International Baccalaureate results, I am now in a position to provide a consolidated picture of the academic outcomes and successes of the Class of 2018. Students completing their Year 12 studies at Ivanhoe Grammar School in 2018 have again performed to a high standard with many achieving their personal best.

Once again, congratulations to our Dux of VCE at each campus in each receiving exceptional results alongside Noah as our International Baccalaureate Dux. Well done Matthew Kaufman from Ivanhoe Campus who achieved an ATAR of 99.85 and Julie Dong from Plenty Campus who achieved an ATAR of 99.5.

Congratulations is extended to all our students from both campuses, as we achieved on a consolidated basis (VCE and IB):

• 16% of our Year 12 students achieved an ATAR of 95 or above, placing them in the top 5% of the State

• 36% achieved an ATAR of 90 (top 10% of the State)

• 62% achieved an ATAR of 80 or above (top 20% of the State)

• 85.8 is the ATAR median for our students

• there were 26 combined perfect VCE subject scores and IB grades of 7 (highest possible grade).

As an open-entry school, students of all abilities are a part of our School community. Although the results above share some of our top achievements, the importance of celebrating the personal best of all our students cannot be underestimated. I congratulate all students who have worked to their capacity and thank the dedicated teaching staff who have supported them.

Further details about our Year 2018 results and student destinations will be published in February when all university offers have been made to our students.

We are extremely proud of our class of 2018 and wish them success in their future endeavours.

Yours sincerely,

Gerard Foley
