World Aerobics Championships
Year 12 student Amelia Fear is headed to Phoenix, Arizona in July to represent Australia in the ANAC World Aerobic Gymnastics Championships.
Amelia began dancing at the age of four and in Year 7 she joined the School’s aerobics program. She loved it so much she quit dance to pursue aerobics. She has represented Ivanhoe Grammar School for the past five consecutive years at the Australian Aeroschools Aerobic Gymnastics Championships, and has captained the team since Year 9.
Outside school, Amelia joined ACE Gym Sports and began competing as an individual with great success – she has represented Victoria at the Australian National Championships for five years running – but this will be her first time representing Australia.
If that wasn’t enough, Amelia also coaches the Buckley House Aerobics Team and played the lead role of Mary in this year’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar! Juggling so many responsibilities, she was surprised and thrilled to hear she had made the Australian team.
Congratulations on a very well-deserved honour.
