Volleyball Boys make AGSV Grand Final
After beating the top of the ladder and championship favourites Yarra Valley 3 -1 last Saturday in the Semi Final, the Boys Firsts’ Volleyball team will play for the first time in an AGSV Volleyball Grand Final this Saturday against Mentone Grammar.
This team, under the excellent leadership of Year 12 boys Finn Conlan (captain) and Michael Lowe (vice-captain), has been working hard for the last 18 months to reach this point. There is a keen and talented group of Year 11 boys headed by Alex Mirkov, Nick Papachristos and Ashish Vincent who have lifted their play recently and on Saturday, along with fellow team members Joe Fuller and Sasha Stratov contributed much to the game. Liam Naylor and Walt Jones will also be involved in this week’s Grand Final and we know that we have a committed bunch of boys who will do the school proud.
We also wish the Boys’ tennis team the best of luck in their Grand Final against Mentone Grammar School to be played next Saturday. This game will be played at St Bedes College Mentone, starting at 8:30am. The Boys’ volleyball Grand Final will be played at 8.30am at the State Volleyball Centre in Dandenong.
Both the Girls’ Softball and Girls’ Tennis had convincing wins against Peninsula.
