Tournament of Minds 2015 State Final
Each year, Ivanhoe Grammar School competes in the Metro Northern Region Tournament of the Minds Competition.
The Tournament of Minds Victorian State Final was held on Sunday 13 September at La Trobe University. Two Ivanhoe Grammar School teams competed in the Maths Engineering Challenge (students from The Ridgeway Campus) and Language Literature Challenge (students from Plenty Campus).
The competition was tough and it was a long day, with the Final held between 9.00am and 6.00pm. The Knox School took out first place in the Maths Engineering Challenge and both Ivanhoe and Girton Grammar School received honours for their fantastic efforts. The Knox School also won first place in the Language Literature final with our team missing out on a place, however the girls are to be congratulated for their excellent team work.
Our teams worked consistently during their lunch times on the challenges and prepared their presentations. It was wonderful to see the finalised presentations and the learning journey undertaken from the initial concept to the finished products. Their final performances and their responses to the various challenges were also very impressive.
Congratulations to all our students for the hard work and effort they have put into this program. The School would also like to thank the parents for their support and the work of Anna Gleeson and Joanna Kane, who oversee this program.
