Thoresby House Wins Swimming Trophy
House Swimming at Plenty Campus this year was once again a close contest; Athelstane was in the lead for much of the event with Thoresby nipping at their heels. The relays decided the day with Thoresby finally overtaking Athelstane to win the competition. Sherwood and Lincoln weren’t far behind in a tight contest for third place; so tight in fact that it resulted in a tie.
It was great to see that House spirit was high with all houses encouraging their competitors with House cheers; Lincoln went to special effort in the presentation of their house area and costumes were creative and fun with a Thomas the Tank Engine costume for Thoresby winning the best costume competition on the day.
The House program caters for students of all abilities and the emphasis is placed on participation and fun. It provides opportunities for students to enjoy success, build friendships across year levels, move outside their comfort zones and increase their sense of belonging to the school community.
The House Captains and Staff worked diligently leading up to and on the day which led to a fantastic outcome for participation and house spirit. Staff and students alike finished the day with a tired smile having worked hard and had a lot of fun culminating in a great day.
