Student and Community Wellbeing

The health and wellbeing of our students and school community is very important and in response to the current Coronavirus situation, the School has created a dedicated section on Ivanhoe Connect titled Student and Community Wellbeing with lots of helpful resources and specialist advice.

The Student and Community Wellbeing section has lots of health and wellbeing resources such as the Coronavirus Raising Children Network Family Guide. This informative site, for parents and carers, has lots of helpful information on Coronavirus, protective hygiene, as well as tips on how to manage while at home.

Topics include:

Talking with children about physical distancing and self-isolation

The Raising Children Network recommends that you can help your children to cope with Coronavirus by physical distancing, self-isolation and talking with them about how they feel. Maximise the opportunities for play and family time.

Physical distancing and family wellbeing

The Raising Children Network acknowledges that physical distancing can be challenging for families and the rules around physical distancing are changing regularly. For the most up-to-date information, you can check Healthdirect’s physical distancing guidelines and self-isolation guidelines. Make the most of family time and implement routines and conflict management.

How to manage physical distancing or self-isolation

The Raising Children Network advises that by staying at home you are helping everybody. Stick to family routines or make new ones that include physical activity, healthy eating and good sleep habits.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and pregnancy

According to the Raising Children Network current evidence suggests that the risk to baby and mother is low. You can access up-to-date information from the Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080 or other reliable sources.

Talking with teenagers about physical distancing and self-isolation

The Raising Children Network acknowledges that teenagers need the space and time to talk about their complex feelings about Coronavirus and the impact of physical distancing and self-isolation may be having on them. Physical distancing means staying at home and protects your family and the community.

For parents, you can access this resource and many more by logging into Ivanhoe Connect and going to School Updates under Communications in the main menu.
