SRC Community Afternoon
The Student Representative Council (SRC) Afternoon focused on the theme ‘Community’ and aimed to build on the Positive Education principles and building community within the School as well as supporting the wider global community.
A variety of activities were planned for the afternoon and included a casual clothes theme, sausage sizzle, house games, creative activities and the opportunity to sponsor a teacher.
The casual clothes day was themed ‘wear something you didn’t buy new’ and encouraged students and staff to wear something second hand or home made for a gold coin donation. A sausage sizzle and baked goods were sold during lunchtime and after lunch a range of fun activities in House groups were carried out. Students rotated through three different activities which included making a House banner/flag and creating a ‘yarn-bombing’ piece, playing some simple team games and working on a segment of a film-clip. It was great to see everyone working well as a team with great enthusiasm.
During lunch, teachers who were approached to be sponsored to complete a challenge were asked to join the sausage sizzle and all donations raised were provided to the Red Cross Ebola Appeal.
The afternoon was a great success and the School would like to thank Pippa Lidgett, staff and students for their support on the day.
