Sporting success for primary
On Friday 17 June, three Ivanhoe District sporting teams qualified for the Finals. The Girls Netball team, Girls T Ball team and the Boys Football team all made the semi finals after competing all term against the other schools in the Ivanhoe district.
The girls Netball team unfortunately lost their semi to the top placed Alphington Primary school. The Girls T Ball team went through the season undefeated and easily won their Semi Final against Ivanhoe Primary School. In an extremely tight Grand Final that was locked at 13 all and then 17 all, the girls eventually ended up losing 18-17 in a nail-biting finish. The Girls T Ball team were devastated to lose the Grand final but were gracious in defeat and still able to feel like they achieved great things this season.
The Boys football team won their semi final easily against Ivanhoe East Primary School and took on Ivanhoe Primary School in the final. The boys were 4 points down at Half time but fought tooth and Nail to out score their opposition in the second half and end up winners and champions by 10 points!
Good luck to the Boys football team as they go on to represent the Ivanhoe district in the Banyule Division Championships next term.
