Sport Report

Our Boys’ Basketball and Tennis Teams made it through to the Grand Final with solid wins over Penleigh Essendon Grammar School and Yarra Valley Grammar respectively. Whilst the Basketball Team will be trying to defend their title, against Marcellin College at Marcellin College in Bulleen on Friday 15 March at 4:00pm, the tennis players will be entering their sixth consecutive Grand Final on Saturday 16 March at Parade College, Bundoora, starting at 8:30am. Hopefully the School community, both present and past, can get behind both teams for their respective Grand Finals.

In a repeat of last year, our Boys’ Volleyball Team had to be content with the Runners Up Prize, going down to Mentone Grammar School in a hard fought match. The boys played superbly to put themselves into a winning position by taking the second set but Mentone Grammar School steadied to win the next two sets and take the title. Whilst disappointing for the boys, it was great to see how well they played and the game was supported by the cheer squad who displayed true school spirit. Well done to everyone involved.

In girls’ sport, our Volleyball Team continues to rack up the wins, now winning nine games straight. With two rounds of the re-draw to go (both against schools who finished 2nd and 3rd on the ladder), the challenge awaits to see whether this terrific team can go ‘back to back’ with a Premiership. Good luck girls!
