Singing sensation
Year 5 student, Alice has sung her way to success coming third in the finals of the Fast Track Singing Competition.
On Friday 29 April at The Plenty Ranges Performing Arts Centre, Alice performed ‘Quiet’ a complex song from Tim Minchin’s popular musical Matilda. She placed third out of 100 Acts which is quite an achievement.
Alice was overwhelmed and proud that she got so far in the competition and aims to audition for a stage musical next.
Ivanhoe Grammar School has a burgeoning performing arts program with a wide range of performing arts opportunities. Through the music department, students can learn a wide variety of instruments, even the bagpipes. There is also a strong tradition of vocal music.
There are ensembles, concert bands, choirs and bands for students to join throughout their primary and secondary years. In addition, the school musicals, held every year for secondary and every second year for primary, are a wonderful showcase of the talent of the Campus.
