On Monday 22 July Scott Darlow, a musician and passionate Indigenous activist and World Vision spokesperson visited our Ivanhoe Campus. Yorta Yorta descendant Scott Darlow first entered the Australian music scene in 2003 and has been a big part of Australia’s Indigenous and independent music industry, releasing four albums to date.
During his visit to our school, he engaged with multiple groups of students throughout the day, from students in our Early Learning Centre all the way up to our Year 12 students. Scott performed several of his critically acclaimed songs and spoke to our students about Australian history, Aboriginal culture, and reconciliation. Our students took a lot out of his songs, presentations, and key message of “FLUTE” – Forgiveness, Love, Understanding, Tolerance, and Empathy.
It was wonderful to have Scott Darlow at school for the day and for students from across the campus to get the opportunity to hear his important message.
