The School welcomes back the Dodemaide Family
Bill Dodemaide from the Class of 1940 is a name that is synonymous with Ivanhoe Grammar School.
Bill commenced at Ivanhoe in 1935 as a student and apart from service in World War 2 and a brief stint in the outside world remained an employee of the School until his passing in January 2007. Bill’s academic involvement finished in 1983 when he retired as Head of the Memorial Junior School (now Buckley House). Dodemaide Hall is named after him.
Bill’s son Michael is a member of the Class of 1976 and has lived with his American wife Susan and boys Nicholas and Justin in San Francisco for many years. Over on holidays Michael and family recently visited the School accompanied by his mother Enid to relive fond memories and reminisce about days long ago!
It was wonderful to host them at the School and be part of so much Ivanhoe history.
