Introduction of New Language Offerings
The School is pleased to announce the introduction of two new languages to the curriculum, Spanish and Chinese. Spanish and Chinese will be offered to Year 7 in 2017 alongside many other exciting initiatives.
Over the past 18 months, the School has conducted a full review of second language offerings across all year levels and all campuses. The findings and recommendations from this review have resulted in a number of significant changes to be implemented from the start of the 2017 school year.
The review took into account the current offerings, the number of students who carried a second language through to Year 12, languages that are offered in schools in both Australia and internationally and the universal acceptance of the proposed languages.
This initiative, along with the launch of the School’s Global Citizenship Centre later in the year continues Ivanhoe’s direction to be a national school with a Global focus, and more importantly continues to develop critical capabilities in students.
