High Achievers Program
From Monday 1 to Wednesday 3 June, eighteen of our high achieving students were invited to participate in a program with Singapore Anglican High School.
The program commenced four years ago when Singapore Anglican High School was seeking Australian schools to form learning and cultural partnerships. Initially they displayed particular interest in the Year 9 Program and the inquiry based learning associated with the Out-of-Classroom programs, as this differed so much from the Singaporean education process. Discussions developed into the establishment of a High Achievers Program, with the top academic students from both schools being invited to participate in a collaborative project.
The aim of the program is to develop both a cultural understanding and to foster a collaborative way of learning that students will call upon when they join the global workforce. Topics covered throughout the program include:
- ,,
- How has Immigration made us who we are today?
- How can we shape our economic futures?
- How ready are we for our ageing populations?
- How ready are we to deal with the next pandemic?

Once the students have completed the project they will have gained experience in the areas of cultural understanding and the sharing of different ways of learning, collaborative communication, teamwork and leadership and analytical thinking and problem solving.
In September students from Ivanhoe will visit Singapore Anglican High School to complete and present the projects.
