Gymnastics Championships
Earlier this year, Tom was selected to take part in the 2015 Australian Gymnastics Championships at Hisense Arena. From Monday 18 to Saturday 30 May, 1300 athletes, 600 officials were in attendance with over 32 sessions and more than 6,000 routines performed over two weeks.
Tom competed in the International Level 8 Under 14 category and performed on all apparatus including Rings, Vault, High Bar, Parallel Bars, Pommel and Floor.
His results were as follows:
Victorian State Championships
Floor – 1st place and State Champion
High Bars – 2nd place
Overall – 3rd Place
Australian Championships
Floor – 9th place
High Bars – 7th place
Vault – 9th place
Overall – 11th place
His results from these two competitions will mean that he is set to be selected for the National Development squad which will involve training at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra later this year. Congratulations to Tom on this amazing achievement.
