The Greek Parents’ Association celebrated its 45th Anniversary at a very successful Dinner Dance on Saturday 4 May. The Association brings together students, parents and staff from Ivanhoe Grammar School and Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School to celebrate Greek culture and dancing.
Students take part in dance lessons to prepare them for their performances on the night. The event was held at The Sovereign and was filled to capacity. There were performances by 26 of our Primary students, a big increase in student participation from previous years. The Convenor of the Association, Mariella Anezakis, was delighted with the number of Ivanhoe families who attended the event and particularly those who supported it through sponsorship or by providing silent auction items.
Over its 45 years, the Greek Parents’ Association has donated significant funds to both schools. At our school alone they have contributed in excess of $35,000, with funds going towards projects such as a music studio at Locksley and a music prize at Plenty Campus.
We congratulate the Greek Parents’ Association and thank them for their ongoing support.
