Graduate Art & Design Exhibition
Congratulations to all our Year 12 Art and Design students, for a magnificent exhibition this year. The exhibition was held throughout the Visual Arts spaces in Locksley, where studios were filled with a wide variety of works from the subject disciplines of IB Visual Arts, Studio Arts, Product Design and Technology and Visual Communication Design.
The opening night was a tremendous success with a celebratory atmosphere as we all stopped to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the class of 2022. Staff and students were overwhelmed with gratitude for the huge turnout of guests, including family and friends.
The opening night included the announcement of significant art and design awards.
This year the Randal Marsh awards were judged by Robert Buckingham (class of 1977). Robert Buckingham has had a long association with the Australian design, fashion, and retail sector. More recently his work has been with Naomi Milgrom Foundation and the MPavilion. He is responsible for promoting contemporary art, design, architecture and urban planning, civic engagement and cultural collaboration in Melbourne. Robert enjoyed visiting the art and design spaces at Ivanhoe again and was impressed with the facilities and high standard of student work.
We would like to acknowledge the support of the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians, especially Michael Bacskos, the current Vice President and Alumni Coordinator Mirella Busso-Lee. The support of the OIGA enabled two of the awards to be presented and rich connections for our Art and Design students as they move into the next stage of their art and design practice.
This year we were excited to announce the inaugural Principal’s Award, where artwork is chosen by the school principal to be part of the school’s art collection.
We are pleased to announce the following prestigious award winners:
