Golf Program
The Ivanhoe Grammar School Golf Program has been thriving for over a year, offering students a unique opportunity to refine their golf skills and nurture a passion for the sport. Conducted every Tuesday at the Latrobe Golf Club, the program is led by experienced club professionals who guide students through comprehensive training sessions. The state-of-the-art facilities at Latrobe Golf Club serve as the backdrop for these sessions, providing students access to well-maintained courses and cutting-edge equipment. A notable feature of the program is the integration of video analysis technology, allowing students to evaluate and enhance their swing techniques.
Participants, numbering 22 across all three campuses, not only benefit from practical training but also receive personal notebooks to document their progress. This comprehensive approach to skill development not only fosters a love for golf but empowers students to set and achieve personal milestones in their golf journey. The program stands as a clear reflection of Ivanhoe Grammar School’s commitment to providing a rich and enriching educational experience for its students.
In an exciting development, the Ivanhoe Grammar School Golf Program recently unveiled its latest addition – brand new polo shirts for the High-Performance Squad. The team is proud to incorporate the beautiful artwork by First Nations artist, Kamilya White, on the collar of the polo.
“Golf, to me, is more than a game; it’s a powerful medium of character development for our students at Ivanhoe Grammar School. The challenges of the course mirror life’s ups and downs, teaching resilience and perseverance. In the landscapes of the fairways, students learn focus, integrity, and the importance of fair play. Golf, with its inherent values, becomes a profound teacher, shaping not just skilled athletes but individuals of substance, ready to navigate the intricacies of the world beyond the greens,” said Teacher in Charge of Golf Ben Ernest.
