First XVIII Season Launch and Jumper Presentation
On the evening of Wednesday 27 April, the Old Ivanhoe Grammarians Football Club hosted the First XVIIIs of the School in the Harris/Stevens room at Chelsworth Park to launch the upcoming First XVIII season. The season launch also included the presentation of jumpers to First XVIII players who will debut in this weekend’s matches:
Firsts Boys v Trinity Grammar School at Trinity Playing Fields, Bullen. Friday 29 April at 6pm
Firsts Girls v Haileybury College at Haileybury College, Springvale South. Saturday 30 April at 10am
At the season launch the students, parents and supporters also heard the hopes for the season from both Head Coaches:
Firsts Girls – Christina Bernardi
Firsts Boys – Ben Ingleton
The captains for both teams were also announced:

Firsts Boys – Jack McInerney
As part of the evening the students, parents and supporters heard from former players who reminisced on their past involvement, how football and the School shaped them positively as a person and the advice they had for our 2022 First XVIIIs. In attendance were:

James Simpson (Captain ’12)
Nick Gieschen (Captain ’02)
Finally, the School wishes all students the very best of luck for this weekend’s matches and the season ahead, particularly the McCormack family who are fielding three players in this weekend’s teams.
