da Vinci Decathlon
On Wednesday 25 May, Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) hosted 25 teams to compete in the first VIC Year 10 da Vinci Decathlon, an academic competition designed to challenge and extend high-achieving students.
Year 10 students, Mika, Christine, Julie, Sophia, Olivia, Layton, Adrian and Zoe were terrific ambassadors of the School and must be congratulated on their teamwork which was noted by everyone at the event. The team placed 6th, an outstanding result! Congratulations to everyone involved.
The da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students.
The da Vinci Decathlon began at Knox Grammar School in Sydney in 2001. It is an academic inter-school gala day run in the spirit of an Olympic Decathlon with events of an academic nature. The 2016 theme is ‘Exploration’.
Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: engineering, mathematics and chess, code breaking, art and poetry, science, English, philosophy, creative producers, cartography and general knowledge.
