CUA Community Care School Grant
The fourth annual CUA Community Care school grants program has commenced. Ivanhoe Grammar School has entered this community focused initiative to be in the running to win $5,000 for a school project at Plenty Campus.
The nominated project is a Sustainability Project known as The Green Zone with the intention to create a vegetable and herb garden that engages the School community. The vegie garden will be student maintained, with parent helpers designated as resident garden managers.
The garden will be integrated within the Primary playground areas to encourage interaction and hands on learning experiences. A student designed rain harvesting and delivery system will be added to ensure the garden is more self-reliant and environmentally sustainable. The project also links directly to the Australian Curriculum in the fields of science, health and technology.
The School is up against 14 other schools in the area to take out the $5,000 prize and given the winner is determined by community voting, every vote counts.
Every person can vote once online and once at the CUA’s Epping branch located at Shop 36, Epping Plaza Shopping Centre, 571-583 High Street.
