Concert For Cambodia
On Friday 14 June the Plenty Campus held their Concert For Cambodia, an opportunity for the entire Plenty community to come together to support the staff and students participating in this year’s Cambodia Service Project. The concert featured performances from current students, alumni and staff as well as a silent auction.,, ,,Over 200 people attended the concert and all enjoyed the wonderful performances and Plenty Campus community spirit. The concert was a wonderful celebration of the musical talents at Plenty, from current students to staff and alumni, with a highlight of the evening being the opportunity to see brothers and sisters performing together. It was also great to see many past students return to the School to support the current Cambodia team – many thanks to Ben Clark (OIG ’02) from The Ten Tenors, Jack Pearson (OIG ’07) from Channel 7’s Winners and Losers, as well as Jessica Darmanin (OIG ’12), Ben Minarelli (OIG ’11), Lachlan Stuckey (OIG ’11), Frances McCarthy (OIG ’12), Sam Chappel (OIG ’08) and Tom Cowie (OIG ’03). Thanks also to Darren Gibson, Head of Plenty Primary, and James Chappel, current staff member and (OIG ’03) for performing on the night.,, ,,As well as being an enjoyable evening for the Plenty community, the concert was a very successful fundraiser, raising aproximately $4000 for the Cambodia Service Project. The team is currently in Cambodia continuing Ivanhoe’s work in Cambodia by volunteering at UNACAS Orphanage, teaching English in primary schools and building houses with Tabitha Cambodia. The funds raised at the Concert For Cambodia will greatly contribute to the success of the trip.,, ,,Thank you to all who attended the concert and supported our Cambodia Service Project team. You can see photos and read about their trip on their blog. ,,
