Celebrating 100 Days of Foundation: A Milestone for Ivanhoe’s Youngest Learners

Foundation students recently reached an exciting and significant milestone: the celebration of their 100th day of Foundation. This joyous occasion not only marked their impressive growth and development but also highlighted their achievements, both big and small, and their progress in learning and personal development.

At Plenty Campus, the day was filled with palpable excitement as students and parents made great efforts to dress up and celebrate. The 100 Years of Foundation Assembly provided a platform for students to showcase their hard work, including reading pieces of writing they had diligently crafted in class. Foundation teacher Mrs Smith’s engaging movie added to the festive atmosphere, and each student was presented with a certificate recognising their participation in the event.

A standout activity involved Foundation students pairing up with their older buddies to create necklaces with 100 beads. This hands-on project not only practised counting but also fostered bonding between the younger and older students. The buddies guided the younger students through the process of counting, stringing the beads, and creating beautiful necklaces, which the children proudly wore home as a keepsake of the day.

Here are some of the delightful writing pieces from Foundation students:

  • When I am 100 years old I will be rich and I will sit on the couch and watch TV. I will play with my grandkids, sleep, and love my wife and be nice – Aurum
  • When I am 100 years old, I will be lying around on the couch and I will knit a new coat out of wool – Avneek

At Buckley House, the celebration of 100 days of Foundation was marked by a whirlwind of activities centred around the number 100. The day included creative art projects and engaging learning tasks that allowed our little learners to truly shine.

The proud parent community joined in the celebration, revelling in the joy of the past 100 days. Mrs Stock and Mr Loft led a fantastic assembly where each student had the chance to share something special about their time in Foundation using the microphone. They expressed their excitement about the progress they were making in Literacy and Maths.

Senior Buckley House students also participated, reflecting on their own Foundation experiences. The Year 6 students supported their younger buddies in creating special artwork to commemorate the day and their collaborative efforts.

A huge shoutout to our Foundation students, their supportive parents, and our wonderful teachers for making these 100 days so memorable. Here’s to many more days of learning and growing together!
