Careers Expo 2016
On Wednesday 1 June, the School hosted its biennial Careers Expo for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. The evening featured Institutional and Alumni presenters who spoke to students about 21 different career pathways.
Returning alumni speakers are “old” enough and “young” enough to have experience in their particular industry as well as being able to relate to students which is a wonderful feature of the expo.
Having parents present alongside their child enables them to meet and connect with alumni and to play a more active role generally in decision-making around subject choices and career pathways for their child.
A large number of University and TAFE Institutions were represented at Info Booths; their representatives provided general course information and responded to students’ queries about specific course requirements.
The expo is always a busy and eventful evening and this year was no exception with many commenting on the quality and diversity of the presenters and the quantity of subjects that were covered.
