Buckley Boys

The School and the OIGA recently welcomed back former students who attended school under the leadership of our Founder, Sydney Buckley, and the second Headmaster, Victor Brown.

This annual event commenced with a Chapel Service conducted by our Chaplain Kirsten Winkett, and a lunch was then held in Buckley Hall for over one hundred past students together with partners. Our thanks go to those carers who also accompanied our older alums.

Many travelled from interstate and country Victoria to be in attendance. Geoffrey Davey from the Class of 1945 and Colin Rowse from the Class of 1946 were presented with their “Living Treasures” plaques for reaching the age of 90 during the year.

In fact, six 90+ year-olds were there on the day! Principal Gerard Foley brought everyone up to date on School matters including the exciting news regarding the commencement of the new sporting complex to be built at the Ridgeway Campus.

Many also took the opportunity to use the new car park under the South Ground which was specially opened for their benefit.
