Annual Cadet Camp

The annual cadet camp was held in the beautiful state forest at Mount Pilot during the last week of Term 1.
,, Students enjoyed a range of activities, including bushcraft and living in the field, camouflage and concealment exercises and a confidence course as well as day and night navigation exercises.

They also enjoyed a visit to the Army Museum and the senior cadets had the opportunity to practise their marksmanship at the state of the art simulated weapons range.

The activities all ran smoothly and it is a credit to the cross campus senior cadet leadership team who have worked so well throughout the year, supported by staff.

With 350 Cadets from across the entire school, the Ivanhoe Grammar School cadet unit is now one of the largest in Victoria. The successful and continued growth of the cadet unit is a credit to the outstanding leadership of Lt Col Waugh who celebrated his 40th annual camp this year!

The Ceremonial Parade, to be held on Thursday 8 May signifies the end of the cadet year and is a highlight of the cadet calendar. The School looks forward to the parade when the full breadth of the cadet program is on display.

Students can join the cadet unit in Year 9 where they learn a myriad of skills such as navigation, bush craft and leadership. To read more about cadets at Ivanhoe Grammar School click here
