General Excellence Award For Entry into Year 7 or Year 10 2026

  • General Excellence Award applications are open to students entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2026
  • General Excellence Award applications are open to external students and currently enrolled Ivanhoe Grammar School students
  • International students already in receipt of a student visa (subclass 500) or who require a student visa (subclass 500) to study within Australia, are ineligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity
  • The closing date for applications is 4.00pm on Monday 24 March 2025. late applications are not accepted
  • The General Excellence Award application fee is $125.00.

The following documents must be supplied at the time of application:

  • Two written references supporting the applicants’ character and achievements
  • Most recent school report
  • Most recent Naplan results – Year 5 2024 Naplan results (Minimum requirement – Exceeding and Strong category results only) for Year 7 2026 applicants
  • Year 7 2023 Naplan results (Minimum requirement – Exceeding and Strong category results only) for Year 10 2026 applicants
  • Recent photo payment of the application fee.

In addition to the above documentation, you will fill in additional information on your child’s interest and achievements in the following areas:

  • Leadership
  • Community Service
  • Music
  • Sport
  • Performing Arts
  • Creative Arts
  • Interviews and Timeline
  • Applicants may be required to attend an interview at the School
  • The Admissions Office will be in touch to arrange the interview time
  • Interviews will be held at Ivanhoe Grammar School commencing Term 2 2025
  • Due to the large number of applications received, it may take several weeks after the closing date to schedule all interviews
  • Successful applicants will be notified via email by the end of Term 2 2025
  • Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email by the end of Term 2 2025.

Terms and Conditions:

1. General Excellence Awards offer a reduction of up to 50% off the net tuition fees, for the duration of the student’s secondary education. All other fees and charges are payable in full.
2. A scholarship award is made on the condition that the student remains enrolled at Ivanhoe Grammar School for the completion of their secondary schooling. If the student leaves the School prior to the completion of Year 10, the parent/s (or guardians) will be required to repay the amount of tuition fee remission received up until that time.
3. All scholarship awards are reviewed annually and, subject to satisfactory performance on the part of recipients and payment of school fees in line with the Business Notice, are automatically renewed for the following year. In exceptional circumstances, the scholarship award may be terminated by the Principal.
4. Families are given 7 days from the scholarship offer to accept the Terms and Conditions of the scholarship award. An extension to this response date will not be granted.
5. Once the Terms and Conditions of the scholarship award are accepted, families have 2 weeks to complete the enrolment process. This includes payment of a non-refundable Capital Levy of $1,500 (if not already paid) and a $4,900 non-refundable Tuition Fee Deposit. The Tuition Fee Deposit is deducted from the February 2026 tuition fee instalment.
6. The School reserves the right not to offer scholarship awards if the standard of those presenting does not warrant it doing so.
