Outdoor Education

Students at Ivanhoe Grammar School experience adventure, challenge, team building, leadership, initiative and collaborative problem solving through an exciting mix of adventure activities in a range of regional and urban environments.

This program, closely linked to the school's commitment to the Round Square philosophy, encourages students to take risks in safe environments so they can learn to become accountable for their own actions.

The exciting Outdoor Education programs at Ivanhoe Grammar sequentially develop students outdoor and environmental skills through activities such as: bushwalking, camping and bushcraft, sea-kayaking, rafting, mountain biking, cross country ski touring and snow camping, canoeing, abseiling, rock climbing & caving. These activities are carried out in natural settings such as: forests, mountains, rivers, alpine, coastal and urban environments.

The outdoor education program fully supports the curriculum at every level and is conducted by fully trained professional outdoor educators in conjunction with specialist providers.
