Run for the Kids
On Sunday 18th March, 42 members of the Ivanhoe Grammar School community competed in the Run for the Kids fun run. Since debuting in 2006, Run for the kids has become one of Victoria’s most loved community events, with its primary aim being to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
It was a great day out and the students did exceptionally well in what were very warm and blustery conditions. The sense of accomplishment and community was outstanding and it was also pretty amazing to be able to run through the Domain Tunnel and over the Bolte Bridge. The students also organised a casual clothes day and BBQ and raised in excess of $1500 for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Our 5km team came 4th overall (2nd in Community division) and the 15km team 13th (4th in Community division).
What a great effort, not only physically, but in coming together to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for a fabulous cause.
