Senior Girls Advance to Netball Victoria Schools’ Finals
Our Girls’ Firsts Netball team took to the court on a mission last Friday. Their aim was to qualify for the Netball Victoria Schools’ final day. With Captain, Georgia Harper and Vice-Captain, Tee Salanoa leading the way, they knew it was going to be a big day.
The competition was fast and furious with eight games (2 x 6 min halves) played over the course of the day and, given only one team from each pool advances to the Finals, every game is of high importance.
It was with great skill, determination and excitement that out of the eight games played, they won seven and drew one. This was a great team effort, with all players giving everything they could to get the team over the line and into the Finals, which will be played on Thursday 14 September.
In the Juniors, we won five games, drew two and lost two, to just miss out on a top four position. However, the experience for the girls was invaluable as they not only got to compete against a variety of schools, they also were able to watch our Firsts girls in action.
The coaches were very thankful for the wonderful support they received from the parents.
A terrific day all round!
