Ivanhoe Dubbed the School of the Region
Heidelberg Leader has featured Ivanhoe Grammar School after the Good Education Group ranked our school the best in the Diamond Valley and Heidelberg area.
The ranking was calculated by the schools who recorded the highest number of 40+ study scores. Good Education Group chief executive Chris Lester said it was a “great result” for the school.
“What we’ve seen in the data is that you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money to get a quality education,” Mr Lester said. “Across the state, there’s a great mix of government and non-government schools all achieving a high percentage of 40+ study scores.”
Principal Gerard Foley said the result was a “significant endorsement” of the school’s dedicated staff, students and parents. “For our students to obtain such a high percentage of 40+ study scores is a reward for hard work,” he said.
“I am delighted with the ranking as it is a significant endorsement of the efforts of our dedicated staff, in partnership with our students and their parents. As an Open Entry School, we aim to assist students in reaching their individual potential, plus some more.
“Schools are places of learning, developing and growing, not only in an academic sense but also through the wide breadth of co-curricular activities that are on offer. The students at Ivanhoe Grammar School are exposed to excellent facilities, committed teachers and a wide range of opportunities to cater for the individual needs and interests of each of our students.
“If school is engaging, then it’s enjoyable and most likely an attractive place for students. We are a school that focuses on providing a breadth of learning – academia, service to others, global citizenship, entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy and the list goes on.
“Most importantly, as an open entry school we are focused on ensuring each individual has the opportunity to become the best version of themselves through a broad array of experiences and opportunities both locally and internationally. Our Strategic Plan defines our purpose ‘To develop young women and men of character’ and this underpins our culture, programs and initiatives.”
