Local round square project at Kilmore Hospital

Primary leaders visited Kilmore Hospital as part of a local Round Square project on Wednesday 17 August.

From the start of the year, students from Years 3 to 6 had spent their lunchtimes making artworks to brighten up the walls of the new hospital building.

They also raised $850.00 at their annual Book Fair and donated it to the hospital, with the hope that the money will be used to cheer up unwell younger patients.

One of the suggestions from the hospital staff is that the money will go towards an iPad to soothe young people coming out of theatre. Students also donated a fabulous selection of books to entertain younger patients and their siblings, or guests of other patients.

The primary leaders thoroughly enjoyed the morning tea with the residents of the nursing home at the hospital as well as a fun sing-a long. Students were also treated to a lovely lunch with members of the hospital staff.

Everyone, students and teachers were touched by the experience of meeting and interacting with the patients and staff at the hospital. Students were very grateful for the experience and inspired by the incredible staff that work at Kilmore Hospital.
