Music Camp
During the last weekend of the Term One holidays 63 students and 11 staff took part in the annual Senior Years Music Camp held at the Old Priory in Beechworth.
While they were there they made an impromptu performance at a country wedding which was being held in the Grounds of the Old Priory. Under the direction of Mr Kolosov, Head of Strings, eight members of the string group entertained the guests after the wedding with two highlights – a recital of Pachelbel’s Canon and a stirring rendition of the School song.
It was a delightful afternoon set amongst the wattle trees. A great experience for the students and a happy memory for all present.
The camp is an integral part of the student’s preparation for upcoming performances and was invaluable to the ensembles and students in the development of repertoire for events.
The intensive few days involved multiple rehearsals throughout the day integrated with some free time to relax and regroup.
Ivanhoe Grammar School has a wonderful and diverse Music program to read all about it click here.
