State Swimming Final for the Relay Team
The Buckley House U/12 Boys 4 x 50m Medley Relay team consisting of Ethan Chieng, Anton Kraev, Oliver Blunt and Jack McInerney won the Northern Metropolitan championships and qualified for the State Finals to be held at MSAC early next term.
The Northern Metropolitan championships are always an extremely high standard and to make it even tougher, only the winning team from the 18 entrants in each event qualify for the State Finals.
Buckley House also had some other wonderful performances on the day, taking our largest team to this event in years with 17 children qualifying through the previous two swimming meets.
To show that all our swimmers were primed for the event, all the Buckley House swimmers equalled or bettered their personal best times on the day. Other medal winning performances were:
Bronze Medal to the Under 12 Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team – Anton Kraev, Noah Hill, Jack McInerney & Athan McLaughlin
Bronze Medal to the Under 10 Boys 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay Team – Indhi O’Sullivan, Winter Judd, Lucuis Bruscino-Raiola & Callum Peden
Silver Medal to Lucuis Bruscino-Raiola in the Under 10 Boys Backstroke
Bronze Medal to Lucuis Bruscino-Raiola in the Under 10 Boys Butterfly
The School would like to congratulate all the 30 members of the Buckley House Swimming squad this year who trained hard and committed to many early morning training sessions to ensure the team’s success. The team still has one more meet, the AGSV Junior Schools Swimming Championships held in the last week of term at MSAC.
Once again good luck to Ethan, Anton, Oliver and Jack as they represent Buckley House at the State Championships on Tuesday 19 April.
