The Ridgeway Campus Valedictory
It was a true night of celebration befitting a Centenary year when The Ridgeway Campus Class of 2015 gathered in the CBD for their Valedictory evening. The service at Scots Church, attended by many grandparents and siblings featured an address from Mr John Doman who reminisced with the group about his memories of their time at the School along with some words of encouragement and advice for the future.
At the Melbourne Town Hall, the formalities began with a beautiful rendition of ‘A Wonderful Life’ performed by Natasha Findlay, Simren Seychell and Raushaan Seychell and then the presentation of each House group. In addition, each of the students chose their ‘special person’ to join them on the dance floor as a show of appreciation for their support over their school journey.
School captains Ruby Marslen and Nickolas Johnson, reflected on their time at Ivanhoe Grammar School and proposed a toast to the School, while the Principal Mr Rod Fraser responded to the toast.
In addition the Principal, delivering his last Valedictory address before his retirement, directed words of encouragement to the group, in the most unique fashion of his twenty year tenure; an A Capella version of ‘The Impossible Dream’. As with the audience at the Plenty Campus Valedictory Dinner the night before, the Town Hall crowd stood as one in appreciation of both twenty years of leadership at Ivanhoe Grammar School…and the wonderful rendition of the classic song from Man of La Mancha.
Good luck to the Class of 2015!
