Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships
From Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 September, eight students from the School competed in the Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships at Mt Buller.
The Ivanhoe team was represented in a variety of races in both Snowboard and Alpine ski events. The glorious spring weather and softening snow were the order for most days and the competition was fierce in each of the events.
Representing the School were:
Year 5: Alex and Ella in Snowboard and Snowboard Cross
Year 9: Adam in Alpine Giant Slalom and Skier Cross
Year 10: Liam in Moguls
Year 10: Sam in Snowboard Cross
Year 12: Jake Cunningham in Snowboard GS and Snowboard-Cross
The team of Year 8 Zac, Year 7 Jed and Year 8 Adam in Snowboard Giant Slalom and Snowboard Cross
All competitors performed exceptionally well and notable top 10 results included Alex and Ella, who placed 4th and 5th in their division team Board and Snowboard Cross races, and Adam, placing 4th outright in Division 2 Boys Alpine GS and 10th place in Skier Cross. Sam placed 9th in Boys Division 2 Snowboard GS and the team of Division 3 Boys Snowboarders Zac, Jed and Adam placed 7th in Snowboard Cross.
