The Victorian Interschools SnowSports Championships were first held in 1958 at Mt Buller. Over 170 schools compete annually in the event and competitors have the choice to take part in Alpine Giant Slalom, Snowboard Giant Slalom, Snowboard Cross, Ski Cross, Moguls, Cross Country Classical, and Cross Country Freestyle Relay.

The Junior competitors took part in various events from Sunday 23 to Wednesday 26 August. Year 5 students Alex and Ella competed in the individual and team Snowboard Giant Slalom and Snowboard Cross events. Their results are:

Individual

Alex, Year 5 – 1^st, Girls Division 4 Snowboard Giant Slalom and 3^rd, Snowboard Cross
,, Ella, Year 5 – 10^th, Girls Division 4 Snowboard Giant Slalom

Team

Girls Division 4 Snowboard Giant Slalom – 2nd
,, Girls Division 4 Snowboard Cross – 2nd

As a result of their performances, the above competitors have qualified to compete as individuals and as teams for their respective races and will take part in the Australian Championships from Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 September at Mt Buller. Congratulations Snowsports Team!
