House Athletics Carnival
On Wednesday 19 August, Plenty Campus held their annual House Athletics at Meadowglen Athletics Track. The weather was anticipated to be dreary; however the sun shone on the day and the House pride and enthusiasm of our students was on display in full colour throughout the day. In true House tradition our students showed great creativity in creating costumes in their House colours, and it was wonderful to see so many students competing for their House.
The House program caters for students of all abilities and the emphasis is placed on participation and fun. It provides opportunities for students to enjoy success, build friendships across year levels, move outside their comfort zones and increase their sense of belonging to the school community. The House Captains and House Coordinators worked tirelessly in the lead up to the carnival to ensure that students were given every opportunity to participate in events of their choosing.
The contest this year saw some great performances from students in all four Houses, but it was Thoresby who came out on top and secured the House Athletics trophy. Congratulations to all students who participated and cheered on their teammates. Special congratulations to Thoresby on a wonderful performance that led to ultimate victory.
A whole campus event like this relies on the hard work of House Captains and Coordinators who, assisted by Ms Kelly Jackson and all staff on the day, put a lot of time into making the carnival such an enjoyable experience for everyone.
