Red Shield Appeal 2015

Each year, Ivanhoe Grammar School students give up their time to volunteer for the Salvation Army. On Sunday 31May, with the help of a Salvation Army representative, a team of close to fifty Ivanhoe students came together to raise funds for the Red Shield Doorknock Appeal.

The students were divided into groups and went their separate ways doorknocking to raise money for those in need. It was clear from the outset that the residents of the local area were as keen to help those in need, as the students and the Salvation Army were, and this was evident through the funds raised. Ivanhoe students raised $1264.05, which will support social programs in the communities across Australia and provide relief for those who experience hardship.

Overall, Ivanhoe’s participation in the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal was a wonderfully satisfying experience for all those involved and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the Salvation Army.
