Senior Music Camp
On Friday 10 April Year 8 to 12 students from the three Locksley ensembles and staff departed for the picturesque town of Bright located in the north-east of Victoria.
The Bright Chalet provided accommodation for students and staff as well as spacious indoor areas for multiple rehearsal sessions each day. These rehearsal sessions gave the Golden Symphony Orchestra, Abbado String Orchestra, Ridgeway Wind Symphony and Ridgeway Chorale the opportunity to learn new pieces and perfect their repertoire.
The camp was an integral part of the student’s preparation for upcoming performances, which include the 2015 Gala Concert in June and the Centenary Showcase Concert in September. The camp was invaluable to the ensembles and students in the development of repertoire for these events.
The intensive few days involved multiple rehearsals throughout the day integrated with some free time to relax and regroup.
