The 2014 Readers’ Cup
In Term 2 Year 7 students participated in the first ever Readers’ Cup Competition, a fun and creative event which is designed to challenge and extend students who are avid readers. The teams were allocated four books to read, A Ghost in My Suitcase by Gabrielle Wang, Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden, Boy Overboard by Morris Gleitzman, and Hating Alison Ashley by Robin Klein.
The Readers’ Cup winning team was the Three Little Piggies (Mila, Marlo, and Pippa) who excelled in the trivia rounds and also produced an exciting book trailer for Tomorrow When the War Began. Second place went to the Shadowhunters team (Dhyana, Ashleigh, Tara and Holly) and third place was awarded to the Lord of the Books team (Julia, Stella, and Jordan).
The hard work and organisation of the students made the Readers’ Cup a fun-filled yet challenging competition. Congratulations to all teams involved!
