Ben Makes All-Australian Team
Year 12 Plenty Campus student and Co-Captain of the Firsts Football Team, Ben Lennon, has recently been selected for the 2013 NAB AFL Under 18 All-Australian Team. His inclusion in the team comes after his participation in the AFL Under 18 Championships, which gives young footballers the opportunity to play in an elite competition. ,, ,,His selection for the All-Australian Team is recognition of the hard work and skill he put into the Under 18 Championships playing for Vic Metro. “I thought I played consistently but all in all I was very surprised and overwhelmed by the selection. I feel very humbled and honoured to have been selected for the All-Australian Team,” says Ben.,, ,,The All-Australian Team is made up of the top performing players and coaches from the Under 18 Championships. As no other country could assemble an AFL team of the same quality, the All-Australian team never plays a game. However selection to the team is a great honour and confirms that Ben is one of the best young footballers in the country.,, ,,"This is an amazing recognition for Ben and he has a bright future ahead of him in the AFL. His selection is testament to the hard work and skill he displays on the field,” said Director of Sport, Neil Buszard.,, ,,Last year, Ben was selected to the level 2 AIS-AFL Academy, which consisted of three camps including international trips to New Zealand and Europe. As well as co-captaining the School team, Ben plays for the Northern Knights.,, ,,The School congratulates Ben on this great recognition of his hard work, dedication and skill and wishes him all the best for his future endeavours, both on and off the field.,,
