Ivanhoe Institute promotes and supports applied educational research. We provide opportunities for teachers to engage in collaborative research projects and to share their findings to enhance pedagogical practice at our School and beyond.

We are focused on supporting a culture of innovation at Ivanhoe Grammar School, and continual improvement in our practices and approaches. Our research programs inform decision-making for curriculum development, classroom practices and professional learning.

Ivanhoe Institute supports research collaboration beyond Ivanhoe Grammar School, so we can collectively contribute to the new directions of education.

Research Highlights

August 2024 – Ivanhoe Grammar School was the first Australian School to present at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. Deputy Principal/Head of Plenty Campus, Fiona Devlin, co-presented with Dr Muralee Das, University of Maine and Maine Business School Management Professor. Together they presented findings from their university-school international research collaboration, which analysed the PISA dataset on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) dataset on Global Competence, looking specifically at the global mindset of future university-bound students.
