Ivanhoe Wins Champion School Trophy at Australian Canoe Slalom Age Championships
Ivanhoe Grammar School’s paddlers made waves at the 2025 Age Nationals on Tasmania’s Forth River, bringing home the prestigious Galloway, Linden, Woodward Champion School Trophy 2025. A team of 19 paddlers, supported by three staff and a dedicated group of parents from the Kayak Parent Support Group, showcased their skills and determination in an event featuring 26 schools.
Key Highlights
Ivanhoe secured the Galloway, Linden, Woodward Champion School Trophy with 18.5 points, ahead of Hobart College, TAS (13.5 points) and Blaxland High, NSW (12.5 points).
Outstanding performances
• Captains, James M and Josh F spearheaded the Team, with a win in U18 Mens C2 (Doubles Canoe), and Josh also came 1st in U18 C1 and 2nd in U18 K1, with James finishing 3rd in the event.
• Alex X, took out the U12 C1 and K1 classes
• Asher C and Luca T teamed up and finished 3rd in the U16 Mens C2
• Alex R and Olivia O teamed up to win the U18 Mixed C2
• Alex R finished 3rd in the U16 Mens C1
• Olivia O finished 4th (3rd school) in U18 Womens K1
• Scott B and Ed R teamed up to finish 2nd in the U18 Mens C2
• Owen D and Daniel E teamed up to finish 3rd in the U16 Mens C2
• Georgette D and Maggie P teamed up to finish 4th (2nd school) in U18 Womens C2
