Holiday Fun with Ivanhoe Edge
The recent school holidays offered numerous opportunities for students to participate in fantastic programs. During the Winter school holiday period, students were offered an exciting glimpse into Ivanhoe Edge sessions with three awesome programs: AFL Clinic, Speed & Agility, and Learn to Lift. School Holiday Programs are not exclusive to Ivanhoe families and are open to the general public as well and are a fantastic way for all families to enjoy the benefits of Ivanhoe Edge, get a taste of the program, and access the coaches’ expertise.
On July 10 and 11, over 30 students joined the AFL holiday clinics, where Matt Kreuzer and Sam Allen led an intense, fun-filled session. From skill drills to match play, young athletes were thrilled to learn moves straight from the AFL playbook. Some even spotted these drills at an AFL training session later on.
The Speed & Agility sessions, led by head of strength and conditioning Adam Hutton, were a hit. With his expert guidance, students aged 8 – 16 mastered the basics of running mechanics and honed their techniques. Running through light gates and comparing times with top athletes was a highlight—everyone left feeling faster and more agile.
The Learn to Lift program was a game-changer. Participants learned the key principles of lifting in the same venue where the Boomers and Opals had just trained. By the end, everyone felt confident and ready to take their training to the next level.
