The Ridge Café is a Finalist!
We are delighted to announce that the Ridge Café located at Ivanhoe Campus has been recognised as a category finalist in the 2023 Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence.
The café has been judged alongside industry peers as part of the 2023 Restaurant and Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence in the Site/ Industrial Caterer category. The Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence offer a deserving acknowledgment to restaurants, cafés, and caterers for their dedicated efforts, exceptional cuisine, and remarkable service within this dynamic field.
In May of 2023, the Ridge Café was judged as part of the 2023 Restaurant Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence. This process involved observation of operations at the Ridge Café such as how dietary requests are handled, food safety, food wastage and importantly the quality of the food produced. The team at the Ridge Café is made up of just six staff, Ali from Chartwells is the Manager who works alongside Head Chef Sam, Cook Rosa and three catering assistants, Kate, Jen and Danny.
The Ridge Café is much-loved by the Ivanhoe community who enjoy diverse menu choices and lots of dietary options. Every week, services extend to 3,500 students and staff members. Their busiest day tends to be Friday, particularly during lunchtime, when the café handles an impressive 300 primary school lunch orders alone. Additionally, Chartwells provides catering for events during school hours and occasionally in the evenings, catering to the larger school community.
