Cadet Promotions Camp
A return from the mid-year break saw final preparations for the Promotions Camp put in place. On Saturday, 15 July, following school sporting commitments, 253 cadets and almost 30 staff boarded buses and travelled to Puckapunyal, where the next generation of Cadet Unit leaders would be provided with training in leadership, administration and the knowledge required to guide the unit through the next 12 months.
Three courses were conducted, from 15-18 July; the CUO Course for future senior leaders, a Sergeants’ course, and a Junior Leaders Course, where Year 9 cadets embarked upon their first real experience in practical leadership.
Experiencing relatively fine, yet icy weather conditions, all cadets gave everything they could as they worked towards gaining the opportunity to challenge themselves in authentic leadership roles.
All three courses were very successful and saw the appointment of a new Senior Leadership Team from both Senior Campuses, from a field of outstanding candidates. Well done to all cadets that participated in the courses, and also a special thank you to the many staff who gave their free time to support them.
