VEIS Showjumping Championships
The VEIS showjumping Grand Final was held on Saturday 10 July at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre. The event fielded 130 entries and even the Victorian weather provided the perfect sunny winter day!
Ivanhoe Plenty Campus riders Ella Barker, Zali Vanderwert Miranda Darby, Charlotte Pierce, Alice Davies, Alice Darby and Eleanor Shephard all rode competitively in their respective classes to gain points for the VEIS schools award. Overall Ivanhoe came second (by 2 points!) to Melbourne Girls Grammar. For a small team to perform so well bears testament to each student’s hard work and dedication, along with the constant support and assistance of their parents.
Ivanhoe Grammar School sponsored the winner’s rugs and it was fantastic to see Eleanor Shephard Year 7 awarded a rug for winning the Encourage series (65-75cm) and Miranda Darby Year 11 awarded a rug for winning the Advanced series (105-115cm) and championship on the day which gives her a spot in the Victorian team for the Australian National championships.
Well done to all riders for their outstanding performance over the past season.
